New Members

If you're reading this, it's probably because you've just been accepted by TR. Congratulations! Please read the information on this page to help you settle in smoothly.

Three things you should do as soon as possible

Register on our forums

The first thing you must do is register on the guild forums. This is a PHPBB forum (you've probably used this system before). Click on 'Register' at the top of the page under the title.

You must enter a valid e-mail address and follow the instructions which will be e-mailed to you, to activate your forum account.

Once you are registered, please send a tell to Neccoz in game (send an offline tell if necessary), confirming your forum login name. He will then give you access to the forums and to the members' area of the website.

Essential reading once you've registered

Please read everything in the Guild Policies forum. Also read the Announcements in other forums.

Please also read the list of Board Member responsibilities. TR is a big guild and the responsibilities of running it are divided between officers. You will get what you want much more quickly if you go to the right person.

Get to know TR's guild bots

Our official bots are currently:

  • Trbot - guild channel bot for The Renaissance
  • Rinabot - guild channel bot for Rinascita
  • Trraid - our raidbot

Trraid is the bot we use for aliens and most other guild raids. It very similar to Pvpnet/Twinknet which which you may be familiar. Trbot and Rinabot can't be used as raidbots.

To familiarise yourself with the commands available on these bots, read the help by typing /tell trbot help and /tell trraid help.

Any member can use Trraid to run a raid. A 2 minute guide to running a raid on Trraid is available on the forums.

Bug reports and feature requests should be made in the Website and Bots forum. The bots are developed and administered by Carjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions by new members

Can I place towers?

Please read the High Level Tower Allocation Policy and associated FAQ. While you are an Applicant, you can only place towers if there is free space. When you are a full member, you can submit a request for tower spots to be re-allocated to you.

If the bases are full, then requests for tower spots should be made by posting on the Tower Spots Wanted thread in our Notum Wars forum. If you have any questions about tower allocation, please speak to Redadv.

Please notice that if bases are not full, you should plant towers for defence even if you're exceeding your 'fair share' under the rules. If you end up with more than your fair share and somebody comes along later and asks for tower space, we will sort it out. Don't leave empty space for the benefit of other people.

How long will I be an Applicant?

You will normally be an applicant for 3-4 weeks. (You will be considered for promotion at the first Board Meeting which takes place more than 2 weeks after you were recruited.) However, you must have been playing actively enough for us to see that you are a good fit in the guild - as a guideline, if you're playing less than 15 hours per week then you should expect the promotion to take longer. If we don't think you're fitting in, we will talk to you about it and try to help you. It is very rare that applicants are asked to leave the guild.

Please don't pester about your promotion. The most common reason why promotions take longer than 4 weeks is that a Board Meeting has been cancelled. If there is a problem, we will tell you about it.

When can my alts be recruited?

As soon as you like. We don't place any restrictions on recruitment of Applicants' alts.

Alts below level 190 should normally be placed in our alt guild, Rinascita. Exceptions to this rule can sometimes be made for reasons related to game mechanics.

Level 190+ alts can be placed in TR.

When asking for an alt to be recruited, you must log your main and tell the recruiting Board Member the name of the alt(s) to be recruited. This is for your protection as well as the guild's.

All Board Members can recruit your alts, so the best way to get an alt recruited is to ask in org chat.

Can I run an alien raid? What are the rules?

We use a weighted roll system at all raids in the TR city. For more information read the weighted roll system rules, user guide and raidleader quick start guide.

There is no formal loot system for raids in Rina's city. The Alien raid rules for Rinascita are simpler than the rules for TR

Can I invite guests to TR raids?

Yes, but as a courtesy please check with the raid leader first. ("Raid leader" isn't any sort of special status in TR - it just means the member who has taken the trouble to organise and lead the raid.)

Please notice that, by general agreement with several other Omni guilds, guests at city alien raids don't roll on loot. This convention only applies to city aliens. At other TR raids (including private alien playfield raids), guests are normally allowed to roll.

Can I open a shop in the city?

You are welcome to open shops in both the TR and Rina cities - both cities have large supermarkets. Due to the high demand on shops on TR's city, there are some rules on shop allocations there to ensure that every member can have at least one shop in the main city. There is no shortage of shops in Rina's city, so shops can be taken on a first come, first served basis there. Please check the rules on shop allocation for some more information.

If there are no free terminals, then requests for shop terminals should be made by posting on the Shop Terminals Needed thread in our Alien Invasion forum. If you have any questions about shop terminal allocation, please speak to Carjoy.
